Congrats! You just got your photo link for Pixieset. I love that you can share this link with friends and family. If they want to have some photos, just send them the link and code! It’s so much easier then sharing discs and burning cds. (Although I do highly recommend burning your photos onto a disc after you download them from Pixieset and putting that disc in a safe place!)
Pixieset is a wonderful program, but some have found it confusing to use. It’s confusing because it has so many steps, but if you follow every step you should be just fine!
Today I am here to try to fix some of those issues.
So first click on the link you receive through email or message from me. It will look something like the photo shoot below of these cute sisters Ania & Mara.
So now you have two choices. You can either download all of your fabulous photos, or take the time to select which ones to download. To download all of them just press the arrow down button circled in the photo below.
If you wish to only download your favorites select the heart shaped button in the bottom right hand corner of a photo. This will add a little red number to the top of the screen by the heart (also circled below). This number keeps track of how many photos you select to add to your favorites.
Selecting this option will prompt you to a screen that asks for your email. Type in your email and it will then let you continue selecting the photos you wish to add to your favorites.
Once you select all the photos you wish to download go back to the top and press the heart button, this will take you to your favorites. Here you can unselect any photos before you choose to download them by pressing the heart shaped button again. Once you have made your final cut, press the download button.
You will then see a screen like this. Put in your email and the 4 digit code I sent you in your initial email.
You will then see another black screen like this. Here you can choose to select all the photos, or just your favorites. I have selected just my favorites. The next question is about what size you want the photos. If you are downloading all of the photos I highly recommend pressing the Web Size button. This will take up less space on your computer, and you can always go back and download the file in high resolution if you wish.
You now have two options again. You can wait for the screen to change to the black screen below or go to your email. If you stay on the page you will see it will change to the download now option. This is where if you have a mac or a pc things are slightly different. We will follow the steps of a mac first.
You will see an email like this:
Press the download here button.
On a Mac you will see a zipdrive file download start on the bottom left hand of your screen (like other downloads do). Wait until it’s finished then right click to select in finder.
When you select this option it will open up in your downloads and have an odd name with a lot of numbers, double click on it.
This will create a favorites file for your photos. Then drag this file onto your desktop or into your pictures folder this file and drop it on your desktop for easy access, or into your pictures folder.
Tada! Here are your photos.
For a PC the process is EXACTLY the same until you reach the part where your files are ready to download. You can go to your email again or wait on the black screen page to press the download button.
Once the photos are downloaded a screen like this will pop up. You can either select save file or open with the program you would like to open the files in. Since my husband’s computer does not have anything fancy on it, I chose to open with windows explorer.
This will then bring you to a page like this with a compressed zip folder. Double click on it.
